WELCOME TO MIDGLEY SCHOOL

Thank you for visiting our school website. Here, you will find lots of useful and interesting news and information about our school.

We pride ourselves on our values at Midgley School.

Our school motto is Learning, Caring and Growing Together

Midgley School is committed to providing a high quality, creative and challenging education within a secure, happy environment, where every child experiences a sense of enjoyment and achieves their full potential, giving them the foundations for future learning and success in life.

We acknowledge the importance of developing a caring and stimulating environment, where children’s high self-esteem enables them to take risks in learning and learn confidently through their mistakes. We encourage children to ask questions and become skilled in solving challenges and problems.

We aspire for all our children to become confident, secure and caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning.

We strive for excellence, empowering children to be happy and responsive. Children are challenged within an enriched, creative and linked curriculum.

We are proud to be an inclusive school that aims to develop independence, responsibility, kindness and good manners.

We respect each individual as a potential achiever and firmly believe that everyone can succeed.

Midgley School is a smaller than average primary school set in the hilltop village of Midgley and we pride ourselves on knowing all of our pupils and families very well.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs and abilities of all of our pupils. We encourage children to develop their own talents and skills, in order for them to reach their full potential.

We recognise the vital role that parents play in their child’s education. We welcome parent’s involvement through the support they give at home, through becoming a parent volunteer in school if they wish or parents may choose to join in with our Midgley School PTFA. Parents are very welcome to join us for Celebration assembly every Friday morning.

Our most recent Ofsted was in March 2022. We are delighted that Ofsted continues to grade us as ‘Good’ following a short one day inspection. You can read the report on the Ofsted section under the 'Key Information' tab on this website.

If you have any further queries about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact us.
